Medical assisting clinical is a 240-hour continuing education course. It is designed to prepare you for an entry position as a medical assistant in a clinical set-up such as, but not limited to, HMOs, medical clinics, chiropractic offices, and rehabilitation centers. The Medical Assisting Clinical program combines clinical and procedural knowledge to equip students with the knowledge and abilities necessary in providing services such as routine diagnostic laboratory procedures, an understanding of medication administration, and entry-level skill proficiency for assisting in routine patient examination and medical procedures. In addition, students will acquire knowledge regarding standards of legal and ethical obligations outlined in the Scope of Practice, which includes ethical behavior, therapeutic communication, and safeguarding patient information.
